Portable power station runtime guide
Estimate how long a power station can run your equipment.
Add up the running load
Use measured power draw where possible. A power adapter’s rating can describe its maximum output rather than what the device usually draws.
Allow for conversion losses
Divide usable watt-hours by the total load in watts. At 80% usable capacity, a 500 Wh battery would supply about 400 Wh, or roughly eight hours at a constant 50 W.
Account for changes in draw
Actual runtime varies with power conversion, temperature, and how devices are used. For loads that cycle, measure energy over a representative period when possible.
Models to compare
Open the runtime tables and compare the same 100 W load across these three batteries. The difference shows how capacity affects runtime.
